As important as service in New Orleans can be for the residents as well as the students, we maintain that ongoing education of the wider campus community is equally important. Please come out and learn more about the struggle for affordable housing, health care and education for the residents of New Orleans and the history of neglect before and after Hurricane Katrina.

Magnolia Project is participating in the Berkeley Project to as part of a mass effort to improve the Berkeley community.
Rebuild the Gulf Coast, Rebuild America Conference: November 14-16
Three members of Magnolia Project will attend the "Rebuild the Gulf Coast, Rebuild America" Conference at Dillard University in New Orleans. The goal of the conference is to develop a campus "action plan" to pass in Congress the Gulf Coast Civic Works Act [House Resolution 4048] in the first 100 days of the Obama Administration. HR 4048 creates 100,000 good jobs and training opportunities for local and displaced workers to rebuild infrastructure and restore the environment.
